SMGHL Championship weekend
CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND March 23/24th 2024
Mark your calendars! The SMGHL Championbship weekend is being planned, and the
format, dates and location have been finalized.
This year the format is different than in the past where all teams played only one game to
end the season. This year, the divisions will be broken into two tiers ( top and bottom tier)
and all teams will play at least 2 games within their tier during Championship week-end to
compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. The exception to this 2 game minimum, is in
the uneven divisions, where the bottom two teams will battle it out and one will end up with
only one game.
The teams that win overall in their division after league play ends (before Championship
week-end) will get the SMGHL Championship banner for their arena.
Schedule for Championship weekend
U9, U13 and U15 divisions: Games will take place in Midland on both days, Saturday March
23rd and Sunday March 24th
U11 division: All games will take place in Midland on Saturday March 23rd.
U18 division: All games will take place in Barrie on Sunday March 24th
