Officiating is a rewarding way to contribute to the sport of hockey. Officials are crucial to ensuring player safety and maintaining the integrity of the game.
They enforce rules, ensuring fair play and maintaining order to preserve the spirit of the game, where outcomes are determined by skill and sportsmanship.
Referees manage player conduct, prevent dangerous plays, intervene in disturbances, and fairly call penalties, contributing to a safe environment where all players have an equal opportunity to compete.
By maintaining a fair and safe environment, referees enhance the game for players, coaches and fans. They also provide clarity on rules, fostering better understanding and sportsmanship.
